ABOUT US

The Alliance of Jamaican Alumni Associations (Toronto) - AJAA is a charitable umbrella organization comprised of forty (40) Toronto-based alumni associations affiliated with educational institutions in Jamaica. AJAA was organized in 1988, and since then it has been involved in administering the educational activities of alumni associations in Toronto. The Alliance was incorporated under the laws of the Province of Ontario on January 21, 1993 and was granted charitable status by Revenue Canada, on March 30, 1994.
THE ACTIVITIES

Graduates Reception: |
This function is held annually to congratulate Ontario high school graduates and to encourage them to continue post-secondary education. |
Change Your Future: |
The Alliance in conjunction with the Learning Partnership, and school boards in the Greater Metropolitan Toronto areas, is involved in the "Change Your Future/Job Shadowing" program. These initiatives provide students with an overview of various careers and encourage potential drop-outs to remain in school. |
Soccerfest: |
Soccerfest is held annually in July each year, at one of the local parks. It takes the form of competitive soccer matches among the alumni associations and also serves as a "family day". |
Care & Share |
A Christmas programme designed to reach out and help families in need during this time of year. |
